6th March 2004

These lines of communication are designed to stop 'information overload' in College. They were designed in consultation with Richard Stibbs, and approved at the JCR Committee meeting on 7th March 2004.

Lines of e-communication

  1. Forum on downingjcr.co.uk
This is for all Cambridge students to post and publicise their events if they wish.
  2. News posts/events listings on downingjcr.co.uk
For Downing students to publicise Downing news and events. Non-Downing events will be always rejected.
  3. Emails to a specific year-group only
These will be accepted if relevant and sent by Downing undergraduates.
Send the email to dow-ugs04@lists.cam.ac.uk - where 04 is the matriculation year.
  4. Emails to all undergraduates
These can only be sent by the JCR President, JCR Welfare Officer, JCR Womens Officer (to womens lists) and JCR Bar President. They will only be accepted in other exceptional circumstances when the news is so important or long that it cannot wait for the email newsletter. As a general rule you must plan ahead and email the JCR President to get your news into the newsletter.
We aim to send, at an absolute maximum, 3 emails to 'all undergraduates' each week.
    Send the email to ugs@dow.cam.ac.uk.
  5. Email newsletter to all undergrads
Sent every weekend by the JCR President. Contains any news updates relevant to Downing undergraduates.
