Forum Moderation Policy

It is not practical to operate an online discussion forum without some moderation. However this JCR believes in preserving freedom of speech and expression for all students as far as possible.

Where moderation is necessary, only individual posts should be moderated, rather than the entire thread.

The following will be edited/moderated/removed:

  1. Remarks likely to cause widespread offence on grounds of race, sex, gender etc.
  2. Specific defamatory references to college staff/fellows/employees.
  3. A request from a JCR member to remove an abusive post that is in specific reference to them
  4. Spam
  5. Posts containing serious libellous statements

To request that a message is removed, please send an email to the JCR Communications Officer and we will promptly consider the request.
