Summary of Main Points of Meeting:
- Welcome
- The minutes of the last meeting were approved
- Matters arising: no new news on KFC. Matt to talk about level of Data Connection
Charge with Richard Stibbs.
- Budget
- James is preparing this year's DCAC budget.
- Main change is increase in number of grads
- Is the DCAC giving the MCR too much money in comparison to the JCR? James to talk to MCR.
- MCR Ents get more money than JCR Ents, but their events tend to make large losses
(e.g. Boogie Nights lost £800. There is a different philosophy to the running
of Ents between JCR and MCR.
- Agreed to increase JCR Ents budget to £1000, and to pay this straight into JCR
Ents Account
- Matt wants the Photocopying Budget to become the Communications Budget, including
photocopying, printing, publicity, website etc. General
dissatisfaction about photocopier - often broken, better alternatives exist. James
to investigate photocopier contract status.
- Desire for a system of petty cash to stop JCR Officers having to pay out of their own pocket.
James to discuss with Dan Beer. Security and accounting issues with having too much money around.
- Should there be a 'projects' account to fund, e.g., the Garden Party? Since this
is currently organised (by tradition) by the Men's and Women's Officers, not Ents,
there is no bank account they can use.
