SOScape: Hitchhike Race - Barcelona 2010 (Christ's Pieces, Cambridge)
SOScape: Hitchhike Race - Barcelona 2010 Date: Tuesday 8th - Friday 11th June Starting line: Christ's Pieces, Cambridge Finishing line: Sagrada Família Cathedral, Barcelona This June, SOScape invites you to burst the bubble in style - how does a hitchhike to sunny Spain sound to you? Post-exams and pre-May Week, twenty teams of two will race across Europe to Gaudi's famous cathedral in Barcelona, with only £10 and €5 per person to spend on transport. That should be enough for a Channel crossing, plus a bus once you hit Barcelona... but everything else we leave to your powers of persuasion! The Hitchhike is to raise money for SOS Children's Villages - the world's largest orphan charity and based here in Cambridge. On Friday morning, all successful hitchhikers will have the chance to visit the coastal Children's Village of San Feliu de Codines, and see in action the charity they've fundraised for. Accommodation will be provided for Wednesday and Thursday night, but those who want a longer visit can book extra nights and continue partying, sightseeing and sunbathing! Booking flights home well in advance through Easyjet or Ryanair is recommended for the cheapest fares. The registration fee is just £35 per person, and we ask you each to raise an additional £75 in sponsorship. And don't worry about registering before exam timetables are released - in the event of a clash, we will refund you in full. All sponsorship raised will go directly to support the ongoing relief work of SOS Children's Villages in Haiti.
