The Chapel is a focus for Christian spirituality, preaching, worship, prayer and friendship. It also has a central place in the musical life of the College. All are very welcome to attend any of its services, or to visit it during the day to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere. The Chaplain, who is a minister in the Church of England, is assisted by an ecumenical team of student Chapel Wardens who come from a wide range of denominations and Christian traditions. Our preachers come from a rich variety of backgrounds. For those looking for a peaceful place to think or pray, the Chapel is kept quiet from 12 to 2 pm each day, and after 9 pm most evenings. At other times, it is available for musicians who wish to practice. The Chapel is usually unlocked in daytime, but members of College may borrow the key from the Porters if it is locked. Our aim is for the Chapel to be a welcoming and inclusive place where Christians can learn from God and from each other, and where all can explore the varied treasures of Christian faith and spirituality. Any who are interested in discussing a Christian approach to life and faith are welcome to attend the meetings of our Theological Society on Tuesdays at 1 pm. Last Updated 01 Apr 2004 (twh23) | ||
