Sports Facilities

The College domus has a number of sports facilities. These are available for use by Downing Students and their guests (within reason) at any time. Use them responsibly, whether this is sharing the courts, taking a sweat towel to the gym, or keeping the volume down. It makes it better for everyone.

The tennis courts are behind the Master’s Garden and opposite the Singer building. There are two hard surface courts, nets and two basketball hoops and netball hoops. There is a padlock on the gate, the padlock to which is again in the plodge.

The Paddock has two five-a-side football goals and plenty of space to run, play and get mucky. There are occasionally prohibitions on its use to protect the ground. No sporting fixtures are actually played there, but there is often training. Use it; we are lucky to have a nice large green space in College. It is also one of the few bits of grass that you can use as you like (within limits).
